Getac and ASM Technologies join forces for utilities success
- ASM's extensive IT channel network increases access to significant new markets for Getac
London 3rd June 2014:
ASM Technologies, the agile technology distribution company for the IT channel, has today announced the signing of a unique partnership agreement with Getac, the leading global designer and manufacturer of rugged computer systems, to bring its full range of products to market in the top-tier IT channel.
Getac builds highly customisable rugged computing devices including laptops, tablets and handheld computers across a range of intensive vertical markets including military & defence, law enforcement, public safety, emergency services, utility, field services, oil and gas, telecommunications, transportation and industrial manufacturing.
Getac operates a number of sales channels to bring its products to its various markets, including both a direct sales model and a number of reseller partner programmes. The company was looking for an additional partner that could extend its reach into larger organisations in its core sectors, while protecting its USP of delivering highly customisable and tailored devices that match its customers’ specific use cases. The company therefore needed a consultative channel partner that could not just open up new, high-volume markets, but was agile enough to support the potentially unlimited SKUs available with Getac products.
Getac has now delivered on a number of sizeable contracts across a range of industries through ASM, most notably with an £800,000 contract to provide ruggedised tablets for the engineers of one of the UK’s big six energy companies.
Peter Molyneux, President, Getac UK, comments, “ASM’s unique approach to agile distribution was critical for building the enterprise channel that we needed. We required a partner that had accreditation to supply and a strong working relationship with the major Enterprise customers in the UK. ASM has rounded out our go-to-market strategy so that we now have solutions from direct sales through to a range of partners for the SME market all the way up to Enterprise.
“Since partnering with ASM we have already been able to complete significant transactions with major enterprises and public sector organisations that would have previously been challenging to fulfil.”
Stephen Dale, Channel Manager at ASM Technologies comments, “Getac’s products are trusted around the world to deliver reliable computing and communications in the harshest of environments. They are a truly respected brand in their field. We are thrilled to offer their products to our reseller customers.”
