The Building Secure IT Infrastructure for Cloud and Mobile Computing seminar hosted by Forum Systems and ASM Technologies took place in May at The Grange St.Paul's Hotel in London.
The seminar was a great success and attended by over 25 delegates from leading systems integrators such as Atos Origin, BT, CSC, IBM and high profile organisations such as The Home Office, Royal Mail, Network Rail and Lockheed Martin. In a relaxed and informal environment, discussions were held on best practice and lessons learned on building a secure IT infrastructure for cloud and mobile computing.
We were very fortunate to have Randy Heffner from Forrester Research there to share his thoughts and research on how to build secure services for cloud and mobile computing and what the market is saying on this subject area. The delegates seized on this opportunity and took advantage of having Randy there and we lost count on the number of questions that were fired his way!
Anand Patel from Network Rail then delivered a fantastic presentation, focusing on how they undertook a project to roll out enterprise mobile services using the Forum Sentry as the gateway for all of their industry-specific mobile services. In an engaging manner, Anand really captured the audience and delivered a case study that certainly got the delegates thinking and produced a really beneficial discussion for all involved.
Rob Houghton from CDL then delivered a very useful case study, focusing on how they approached implementing their SOA gateway, the challenges they faced and how they came to choose the Forum Sentry product to drive forwards their project.
Finally, Jason Macy (CIO Forum Systems) then provided the delegates with a detailed insight into Mobile Identity and Edge Security and how the Forum Sentry Security Gateway fits in with this. Jason also shared where Forum are going next with their product range and gave the delegates a hint of what is to come.
Delegates were then treated to dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen restaurant where it was time to unwind after a long but very productive and worthwhile day.
